Bjmckenz | Got the dreaded perma-light. Would prefer to use OEM module but dealer says module is dead. Is there anyone who repairs it, or do you all just pull the bulb and (maybe) use an aftermarket TPMS? |
cstall | TPMS receiver isn't a high-failure item. Are you sure the sending units and batteries in the wheels are good? |
Bjmckenz | Frankly, no. It was the dealer that diagnosed it. The PO changed the wheel units and the other dealer said it wasn't them, as well. So I'm likely to trust them. |
garysss | The wheel units must be programmed after install by dealer, did they do that? If new wheel units have been on dealer shelf for 20 years, they could be dead also. If module is dead, would the light still be on? I hope they can figure it out. What year is your Prowler, 2002 had different module and cheaper wheel units. Some have switched to that, but not sure if they are still available. |
Bjmckenz | Yeah, that's what they tried. First dealer could not (for PO) then second dealer couldn't for me. |
LSK | I used a small piece of black electrical tape to blank out the low tire light on the dash. |
Bjmckenz | I didn't know the Prowler had a VCR in the dash! |
